St. John the Baptist - Patron Saint of Our Parish
St. John the Baptist stands as a bridge between the Old and New Testaments, a voice crying out in the wilderness, calling people to prepare their hearts for the coming of the Messiah. Clothed in camel’s hair and nourished by locusts and wild honey, he lived a life of radical simplicity, fully devoted to his divine mission. His baptism of Jesus in the Jordan marked the beginning of Christ’s public ministry, as the heavens opened and the Spirit descended like a dove.
John’s fearless proclamation of truth extended beyond his preaching, he confronted corruption and sin, even when it led to his imprisonment and martyrdom. His life reminds us that true discipleship requires courage, humility and an unwavering commitment to God’s will.
As our patron, St. John the Baptist calls us to repentance, renewal and faithfulness in preparing the way for the Lord.
